This training gives caregivers the skills necessary to professionally and objectively handle clients with challenging behaviors.

This class is comprised of the Revised Fundamentals of Care giving, Mental Health Specialty, Dementia Specialty, Pain Management, Preventing Caregiver Burnout and Navigating Challenging Behaviors.

Students must complete an in-person skills lab in order to receive their core basic certificate. Students will gain knowledge of the skills that comprise the skill portion of the Home Care Aide exam that is administered by Pro metric.

This course covers subject matters designed to assist the caregiver to effectively perform their jobs. Including understanding client rights, the care plan, documentation and reporting, and basic communication techniques. Orientation and safety training: Introduces new workers to the job and care setting

State exam: Must be passed to become certified.
